It is a mandatory requirement of NDIS registration that all providers have relevant policies and procedures in place, which meet the requirements of the NDIS (Quality Indicators for Practice Standards) Guidelines 2018, which includes associated ‘Rules’ and Skills Descriptors where appropriate.

You can choose from two packages.

1. DIY package – Template Policies and Procedures

You will be provided with:

  • a set of template policies and procedures, forms and registers, which work towards meeting either your certification or verification requirements of the relevant NDIS Quality Indicators for Practice Standards, and associated Rules and Skills Descriptors (where appropriate) for your NDIS registration.
  • a Self-Assessment guide to support the mandatory online NDIS registration self-assessment which is part of the online registration application and renewal process.
  • an Implementation Guide which will help you contextualise the documents to your NDIS business.

2. Tight with time – Individualised Policies and Procedures

You will be provided with:

  • A set of policies and procedures, forms and registers, which work towards meeting either your certification or verification requirements of the relevant NDIS Quality Indicators for Practice Standards, and associated Rules and Skills Descriptors (where appropriate) for your NDIS registration.
These policies, procedures, forms and registers will include:

           – your business name,

          – business logo,

          – positions responsible for functions,

          – relevant state/territory legislative requirements, and types of supports you deliver.

  • a Self-Assessment guide to support the mandatory online NDIS registration self-assessment which is part of the online registration application and renewal process.
  • an Implementation Guide which will help you further contextualise the documents to your NDIS business.

You may already have policies and procedures in place, which would benefit by a review to assess how they meet the current requirements of the NDIS (Quality Indicators for Practice Standards) Guidelines 2018, and associated Rules, Skills Descriptors and the NDIS Code of Conduct. Document reviews are particularly useful in the lead up to your next audit as part of your continuous improvement activities. Our document reviews are undertaken by a EFA team member with extensive experience in auditing and document review.

You can choose from two packages.

1. Document Review package

These document reviews provide you with:

  • a Gap Analysis of how your existing documentation meets, partly meets, or doesn’t meet NDIS requirements,
  • recommendations of how you can practically address areas where your documentation partly meets or doesn’t meet NDIS requirements,
  • a summarised report which will identify the key findings, priority areas, issues and recommendations from the document review – a great resource for your key personnel and management team.

2. Document Review and Updates

If you are short on time / resources, we can also make any necessary updates directly into your policies and procedures. This package would include:

  • a Gap Analysis of how your existing documentation meets, partly meets, or doesn’t meet NDIS requirements,
  • recommendations of how you can practically address areas where your documentation partly meets or doesn’t meet NDIS requirements,
  • a summarised report which will identify the key findings, priority areas, issues and recommendations from the document review.
  • Updates made directly into your existing documentation (policies and procedures). Note: any additional policies and procedures required would be costed separately.

All NDIS providers applying for registration, or undergoing registration renewal must complete an online self-assessment via the NDIS Commission’s portal. This self-assessment requires you to demonstrate how you are complying with the relevant NDIS Quality Indicators for Practice Standards (and associated Rules and Skills Descriptors). Having a robust self-assessment will provide you with confidence going into your certification audit.

To support the completion of your self-assessment, we can:

  • provide you with a detailed Self-Assessment guide,
  • review the information you have provided in your draft Self-Assessment,
  • suggest comments for enhancement.

Preparatory Audits are a great way to have a trial run in the lead up to your initial, midterm or re-certification audit. Any potential non-conformities or improvement opportunities can be identified and addressed before the certification audit takes place. An added bonus, is that it demystifies the audit process, and gives your team an idea about what to expect during the audit process.

Our preparatory audits:

  • are conducted by EFA team members highly experienced in NDIS auditing, and use a similar approach to what which will be performed by a NDIS audit team.
  • involve consultations with a sample of staff, management, governing body personnel, participants and families.
  • review the systems of providers to verify records of how they are implementing their policies and procedures.
  • can be conducted remotely or face to face.
  • produce a comprehensive audit report, which incorporate key findings, priorities, recommendations for any necessary corrective action.

Internal Audits are a mandatory requirement of the NDIS Practice Standards. NDIS auditors will be looking for evidence about how you have planned and conducted your own internal audits.

We can help out through training, or alternatively, we can conduct internal audits for you. This is a great way for you and your team to become familiar with how internal audits work, and ultimately you can take over the future conduct of internal audits yourself.

Our internal audits:

  • are conducted by EFA team members with qualifications and experience in internal and NDIS auditing.
  • are planned in collaboration with NDIS providers to identify priority processes for the internal audits.
  • can be conducted remotely, or face to face.
  • produce an audit report, which identifies findings, themes and recommendations.

The NDIS registration process can be overwhelming, particularly for new providers.

We can provide coaching that is tailored to your needs, and ideally can be timed around the key stages in the audit and registration process – though that is entirely up to you. Our team includes associates which are specialists in their fields, so if you have specific issues about particular NDIS services or supports, we can help you.

We are very flexible!

Coaching is purchased in blocks of three hours, and we can work with you to decide how to get the best value out of the coaching.

All NDIS providers are required to have effective strategic and business planning processes in place. We have the necessary expertise in our team to support you in a range of individualised ways to develop strategic and business plans which promote the quality and success of your business.
